Meetlaw Battery Farm
Stand-alone Battery Energy Storage (BESS) project in collaboration with One Planet.
The Meetlaw Farm project is a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) development located in Fordoun, Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire, UK. The project is being developed as a joint venture between One Planet Developments Limited, Viridi RE, and Green Enesys Group. Spanning approximately 2.4 hectares (6 acres), the site is strategically situated adjacent to the Fiddes substation. Planning consent for the project was granted on September 19, 2023, and the project is expected to be connected to the grid in Q4 2028 with a connection voltage of 33kV. The project operates under a 40-year lease period, with tenant-only break options every 5 years starting from year 15.
The Meetlaw Farm project has a capacity of 49.9 MW, with a 2.4-hectare site adjacent to the Fiddes substation. The project is set to connect to the grid in Q4 2028 at a voltage of 33kV. It operates under a 40-year lease. Key advantages of the project include enhanced grid stability, improved energy efficiency, and the ability to store and supply energy during peak demand periods.
The development process of our battery storage project ensures smooth execution, peak performance, and strict compliance with technical, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Granted on September 19, 2023, with permission valid for six years.
The project benefits from a 33kV grid offer with a connection date set for Q4 2028.
The project operates under a 40-year lease period with tenant-only break options every 5 years from year 15. The option length is until December 31, 2029, with the right to extend for up to an additional 2 years if necessary.
The site is adjacent to the Fiddes substation, optimizing connectivity and efficiency.
The project is part of a joint venture between One Planet Developments Limited and Viridi RE and Green Eneys, , leveraging extensive experience in solar and BESS projects.
