Rich Entrepreneurial History
Active since 2006, Viridi has had a rich entrepreneurial history marked by continuous activity and growth in the renewable energy market. Initially part of the Würth Group (2006-2013) and later the Kaco New Energy Group (2013-2019), Viridi was instrumental in constructing more than 100 turnkey PV power plants across Europe and America.
After Kaco’s integration into Siemens in 2019, Viridi RE GmbH emerged as an independent entity, allowing the company to focus solely on photovoltaic technology and project development. By 2024, Viridi’s project development had expanded to 15 countries, building a global pipeline nearing 13 GW in renewable energy and battery energy storage solutions (BESS).
In response to the evolving needs of the energy sector, Viridi ventured into the Green Hydrogen market in 2020 and became a founding member of the H2 Global Foundation in 2021.
Today, Viridi’s portfolio extends beyond PV and battery storage to include power-to-x technologies, thermal storage, and wind energy, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and sustainability in the renewable energy industry.
Spain
Since 2006, we have established our presence in the Spanish market with numerous solar plants already operational. With offices in Pinto, Madrid, and Valencia, we boast a development pipeline of over 3 GW in PV, wind and BESS and over 800 MW in hydrogen projects.
Italy
We have been active since 2008 and reentered the market in 2019. Operating from our office in Padova, we maintain a development pipeline of more than 1 GW.
Germany
With our headquarters in Neckarsulm, we have been active since 2006 and reentered the market in 2020. Our development pipeline includes around 1 GW of PV, wind, and BESS projects.
UK
We have been active since 2013 and reentered the market in 2021, we have established a significant pipeline of close to 1 GW in PV and BESS projects.
Viridi US
Entering the US market in 2021, we have rapidly expanded our presence. This year, we acquired Lake Renewable, a local developer, to further enhance our regional capabilities and project portfolio. With offices in North Carolina and Florida, our development pipeline has grown to an impressive 4 GW in solar and BESS projects.
Mexico
Active since 2013, we have a robust development pipeline exceeding 800 MW. We are actively developing several projects to strengthen our presence in the region.
Peru
Active since 2017 with an extension in 2021, our focus has been on the development phase, boasting a pipeline of over 1 GW.
Colombia
Active since 2017, we have been developing several projects with a development pipeline of over 500 MW.
Hounduras
Active since 2017, we have a pipeline of 50 MW.
