Cádiz E-Methanol
SolWinHy Cádiz, our pioneering plant, will produce 29k tons of E-methanol annually.
SolWinHy Cádiz is a cutting-edge green methanol facility located in Arcos de la Frontera, Cádiz, Spain, and marks the first of several renewable energy projects. The plant will produce 29,000 tons of E-Methanol annually, powered entirely by renewable sources: a 130 MW solar PV system and a 54 MW wind farm. Operating independently from the national grid in island mode, the facility ensures that all hydrogen and methanol production is 100% renewable. An 80 MW electrolyzer produces green hydrogen, which is combined with biogenic CO2 to create methanol. Situated on 463 hectares of leased agricultural land, the plant is positioned to supply green methanol to Germany, with negotiations with potential off-takers already in progress.
The SolWinHy Cádiz e-methanol facility will produce 29,000 tons of RFNBO-compliant E-Methanol annually, powered by a 130 MW solar PV system and a 54 MW wind farm, with production slated to start in early 2027.
Project milestones are progressing as planned, keeping the facility on schedule to begin E-methanol production by early 2027.
