Beiersdorf-Freudenberg PV Plant
Development of a ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) plant in Brandenburg
The project is located on agricultural land, bordered by forest and other farmland, with a mostly north-to-south sloping topography and deep groundwater levels. It is situated around 400 meters south of the Beiersdorf settlement. The building plan covers approximately 119.8 hectares, with 104.7 hectares designated for PV installation within the construction boundaries. Challenges arose in adjusting buffer zones to accommodate the local settlement and a model airfield. The project will have minimal land sealing, at less than 3%. After its operational period, the plant is guaranteed to be dismantled, contributing to improved soil fertility. A local project development company will be established to manage the project, with a construction timeline of approximately 12 months. The PV plant will connect to the 110kV grid via an operator-owned substation.
The PV plant is set to power roughly 34,000 households. Beyond energy generation, the project brings several community benefits, such as opportunities for local involvement in electricity revenue sharing and the installation of a solar charging station for residents. It will also include a bike path and a wildlife corridor to support and enhance local biodiversity.
During the entire development process, we actively collaborated with local municipalities and residents, keeping them informed and jointly developing the project concept.
We worked closely with local authorities to finalize plans, including the fire protection concept, and adjusted project proposals based on community feedback.
Informational events were held to keep residents updated on the solar park, alongside ongoing discussions with individual council members.
The project provides opportunities for community participation in electricity revenue and includes the installation of a solar charging station for residents.
